Monthly Fuel and ETS Surcharges – Petroleum Tank Farm

Due to IMO 2020 regulations, all shipping providers must implement and update fuel surcharges monthly based on current barrel prices. These fuel surcharges will fluctuate each month and, in some cases, may change within the same month.
Petroleum Tank Farm Our Petroleum Tank Farm features twenty-nine (29) large above-ground storage tanks located on-site. These tanks are enclosed by a reinforced concrete containment wall that exceeds state safety standards, ensuring the protection and safety of handling such commodities. We provide a diverse range of products, including No.6, No.4, and No.2 Diesel Oil, Aviation Kerosene, and Liquid Asphalt, to meet our customers' varied needs.
Please be advised that starting January 1st, 2024, changes to the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) will lead to an extra surcharge on all shipments under the following conditions:
  • Voyages occurring within the EU or while ships are within EU ports (100% of emissions),
  • Voyages beginning or ending outside the EU (50% of emissions). This permits the other country to decide on the measures they will implement for the remaining portion of emissions.
  • The United States has announced plans to introduce a similar system for domestic routes within the United States and between the United States and the EU, but no confirmed dates have been provided for when this surcharge will be implemented.
For additional details regarding the ETS surcharge, please visit the EU Commission Website.
We have recently updated our Fuel Surcharges document to include the ETS Surcharge. Guidance on calculating the correct fuel surcharges for your vehicles on each route has been provided to make the process quick and straightforward.
